Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use EDC Flow, a voice dictation app for Android provided by Epicurean Digital Consultants ("we", "us"). By installing or using EDC Flow you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. The service
EDC Flow listens while you hold the Voice Bar or its Smart Folder button (or after you tap one for hands-free mode), turns your speech into text on your phone, has the text polished by AI, and either inserts it where you are typing or files it as a note in a Smart Folder. How your data is handled is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
2. Free use
EDC Flow is currently free. To keep the service available for everyone, we may limit or pause use that looks automated or abusive.
3. Check before you send
EDC Flow uses AI to rewrite your words. AI can mishear or misunderstand speech, change emphasis or make mistakes. Always read the text before you send, post or rely on it. You are responsible for the content you dictate and send, and EDC Flow should not be relied on for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice or for emergencies.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use EDC Flow for anything unlawful, harmful, harassing or deceptive;
- record other people without the consent the law requires where you are;
- try to access our server other than through the app, overload it, get around its limits or use it to build a competing service;
- copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows this.
5. Your content
What you dictate and the text EDC Flow writes for you belong to you. You give us only the permission needed to process it to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of it and do not use it for advertising.
6. Our app
EDC Flow, its design and its name belong to Epicurean Digital Consultants. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on your devices in line with these terms and the Google Play terms.
7. Third-party services
EDC Flow relies on Android's on-device speech recognition on your phone, on Anthropic's Claude for AI writing and on our hosting provider. Their availability is outside our full control, so we cannot promise the service will always be available or error-free. If the AI cannot be reached, EDC Flow inserts a basic clean-up of your words and tells you so.
8. Purchases
We may offer optional in-app purchases, such as a subscription, in a later version. Any purchase would be made through Google Play Billing and would also be subject to Google Play's terms, including its cancellation and refund rules. We will update these terms before any purchase is offered.
9. Changes and ending the service
We may update EDC Flow and these terms. If a change to the terms is significant we will tell you in the app or on this page before it applies. You can stop using EDC Flow at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms, and we may discontinue the service with reasonable notice.
10. Liability
EDC Flow is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by text you sent without checking it. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country, and you may bring claims in your local courts.
